Family Welcome Packet
Clients who have family support during addiction recovery really value it, and so do we. We offer family therapy for everyone who enters our facility and wants to develop or rebuild their relationships whilst getting clean.
Why family therapy?
As well as individual Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and group therapy with other clients, family therapy can become a crucial part of addiction and substance abuse recovery. When in the depths of addiction, many family members feel lost and alone, unable to understand why their loved one is so determined to self-destruct.
Meanwhile, the individual experiencing addiction can often find their family’s concern unfounded and irritating, particularly if they’re still in denial about the power substance abuse has over them. When they do accept treatment, they will often feel remorse about the way they treated their family and friends during their addiction and want to make amends now that they’re clean and sober.
As well as this, there are a number of deep seated issues which can lead someone down the path of addiction in the first place. Family neglect, divorce and conflict can all influence addiction, so tackling these emotional triggers head-on is really essential to prevent the individual from relapsing in the future.
