Getting to Know Our Therapeutic Elements
There is no single road to recovery. Each patient will have a unique and individual set of experiences, due to differences in family background, support systems, and the intensity level of his or her condition to begin with. To meet and satisfy each of our clients’ particular treatment requirements, we offer a wide variety of care and recovery services to assist them in moving forward and successfully restoring control back into their lives.
The Principles Behind Our Therapeutic Elements
For a more efficient and reliable treatment and recovery program, we strictly adhere to the following principles of effective treatment:
-
Substance addiction and other mental health disorders have multifaceted effects on the physical, psychological, emotional, and social aspects of the sufferer.
-
Sensitive acknowledgment of each patient’s individuality is a critical point in helping them restore their functionality and productivity. There is no black and white in the treatment of addiction, trauma, or mental health disturbances. Thus, we treat each patient as a unique individual and design an integrated treatment plan well suited to their specific needs.
-
Early intervention is the key to effective treatment. Coping with addiction and other mental disturbances is a topic that has long been publicly stigmatized.
Understanding this, we immediately provide our services the very moment a patient does decide to consent to treatment. Taking advantage of the situation, we enthusiastically and patiently accommodate them, and assure them that treatment is available and accessible. Putting treatment off for later disturbs the patient’s momentum and determination to get well.
-
We provide a comprehensive treatment plan, covering all associated aspects, making each patient better not only medically and psychologically, but also socially, vocationally, and legally.
-
We emphasize to our patients the need for long-term rehabilitation. We provide moral support, motivation, and inspiration in the form of individual and group therapy sessions, as well as regular post-rehabilitation assessments, monitoring, and follow-ups. In this way, patients are steadily engaged in the treatment process and relapses are prevented.
Our Program’s Therapeutic Elements
With the principles above serving as our guiding beacon, we have incorporated the following therapeutic elements to our treatment program.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
This combination of behavioral and psychotherapy treatment is a short-term and practical method designed to improve patients’ thought and behavioral patterns, which are deemed responsible for emotional and psychosocial impairments. We utilize this method in treating issues ranging from substance abuse, anxiety and depression, sleep problems, to relationship issues. Its goal is to change patients’ attitude, behavior, and outlook by improving their cognitive functions.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
We promote a positive counseling approach as an effective means to recovery, highlighting and emphasizing patients’ positive attributes and character instead of reminding them of their negative points.
Brief Strategic Family Therapy
Due to its cultural sensitivity, we utilize BSFT as a proven method in dramatically reducing juvenile delinquency and substance abuse. This hands-on and well-structured approach positively strengthens family bonds, in order for patients to undergo a much quicker and more effective recovery process.
EMDR Therapy
For patients who have suffered from severe forms of trauma, we utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy, which is a proven safe and effective method of treatment, as lauded by the American Psychiatric Association (APA), the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, the Department of Defense, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies.
Psycho-educational Groups
Patient recovery is made easier with extra help from loved ones. We emphasize the need for family members and close friends directly involved in the recovery process to take part in our psycho-educational groups, right after diagnosis. The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry promotes psycho-education in order for family members to become skilled and well-equipped caregivers to their recovering loved one.
Mindfulness
Rooting from ancient meditation principles, we are utilizing this centuries-old yet timeless method to help patients gain a firmer grasp and control of their minds. By somehow taming the mind, stressful situations and potential emotional outbursts are kept at bay.
These therapeutic elements are crucial for successful treatment and recovery. Take note, however, that relapses are quite an inevitable bump on the road to wellness. But if and when you do find yourself on the ground, we will always be there to help you stand up again.
